"Gouache - Grandmother And Her Grandchildren - 1849 G.jouet"
Beautiful and large bright gouache on laid paper, representing a grandmother reading to her two granddaughters. The grandmother sitting on her four-poster bed facing a fireplace is covered in many layers of extremely detailed clothing and capes. The slab floor, the various objects and the drapes are also extremely fine in their execution. The restoration period frame is in wood and gilded stucco.
