Small Rosewood Showcase Desk, Napoleon III period, dating from the mid-19th century. The lower part presents a dark sliding table in red leather redone with central pattern, cold stamp and gold. This table opens with two drawers, with fronts decorated with molded strips, fitted with functional original locks with entries and keys. It rests on four turned legs with fluted shaft ending in spinning top feet. This base is joined by two concave side spacers connected by a central bar promoting stability and solidity. The upper glazed part is made up of a door, with protruding molding, dark with clear beveled glass and two small drawers crafted in the same spirit with locks, entrances and keys. The interior offers two modular mahogany shelves mounted on racks. The uprights, projecting, are half-column. The top of this gendarme hat piece of furniture is molded and decorated with spinning tops. These elements, upper and lower, are joined together using an iron plate to obtain a ventilated work space with molded panel. The drawer interiors are also made of mahogany.
