Vallauris Sandstone Coffee Table, Signed R.capron, “les Herbiers” Collection – 1960 flag

Object description :

"Vallauris Sandstone Coffee Table, Signed R.capron, “les Herbiers” Collection – 1960"
Rectangular table signed by the French ceramist Roger Capron (1922-2006). Capron is mainly known for the number of awards he received during his career and the numerous patents he filed, notably his technique of inlaying plants in ceramics. It is precisely this process that is used through this coffee table from the famous collection entitled “Les Herbiers”. This table presents 24 sandstone tiles, seven of which bear the imprint of plants. The two ends of the table are also covered with half-U tiles, bringing softer lines to the top. The top rests on a blond mahogany structure ending in four double legs connected by two side spacers. This creation by Roger Capron is a reminder of the fall season with its soft colors. ******** Period: 1960 Excellent condition.
