Light cavalry officer's saber model 1822 circa 1830 / 1860. chiseled brass frame and gilded with foliage, wooden handle covered with fine shagreen and braided filigree. Montmorency-style blade with double hollow sides per side of 90.5 cm, flat back without officer marking. Remains of gilding and letters CF for the furnisher or controller. Red felt tie present. Absence of the sheath. (In sheet iron with 2 bail rings) To find!! The blade with double hollow sides allows us to place this model of officer's saber under the restoration..... or the Second Empire, the 1854 blade is the same but straight and mounted on the 1822 of the line cavalry. Beautiful 1822 saber worn by a cavalry officer, horse hunter, hussar, light horse.....under restoration. Blade width at the hilt 3.2 cm
