Bibliography: “Use and prestige glass” by Jacqueline Bellanger
The decoration of this glass is clearly inspired by the work of Charles Mavelot, master French writer and engraver, active in Paris in the last quarter of the 17th century. In his editions, he calls himself valet and engraver of Madame la Dauphine then ordinary engraver of Her Royal Highness Mademoiselle. His production consists mainly of collections of figures, which he engraves himself, as well as heraldic engraving.
