Superb Pair of Decorative Vases in Red Marble "Griotte Rouge de Belgique" and chiseled and gilded bronzes in Louis XVI style Late 19th century. Dimensions Height: 48 cm Width 20 cm Depth 19 cm. Architecture Vase: Beautifully made and large in size, the whole is composed of a pretty baluster-shaped body, with side handles decorated with swans' necks and wings deployed in applique and palmettes joined by a beautiful draped decoration and falling knot on the facades. Resting on a pedestal base decorated with stylized acanthus leaves and large pearls and rushes and on a square base with projections and curved angles. On the top part, with a closed rounded covered pot molded with foliage decoration and ends with a pretty button in the shape of an exploded pomegranate. Condition report: Beautiful gilding and superb original condition, tiny traces of age and use. Tiny gaps on refilled marble. Magnificent Shine on Marble. Marble: "Red Morello Cherry of Belgium" not usual, Red Morello cherry incorrectly called morello cherry because only the color is reminiscent of morello cherry. Often confused with Rouge Royal.
