Console
Carved and gilded wood, Top in marble broccatello di Spagna, cm 93 x 132 x 67
Furniture of the highest quality is a version of the French "console" in vogue in Naples in the eighteenth century. The console table in carved and gilded wood has a top in Spanish broccatello marble with a shaped edge in the characteristic golden yellow color interspersed with purple-red shades. While maintaining a balanced symmetry, the structure is perfectly in tune with the forms of the "Neapolitan baroque".  The front is moved and sculpted in leaves, flowers and curls that repeat like a leitmotif even along the sides. The legs are shaped as a volute opposed on leaf feet.
