Mahogany Commode, Louis XVI – 18th Century

Louis XVI chest of drawers whose drawers, feet and crosspieces are in solid mahogany and the sides each have two panels in mahogany veneer. It opens with an upper drawer, provided with three compartments of the same size, and below three similar drawers higher up. Each of them, assembled with a dovetail and in perfect sliding condition, is surrounded by a quarter round brass and decorated with a pair of drop handles with lock, brass surface-mounted entry and rear key. All these elements are original and in perfect working order. The quarter-round front uprights are fluted and the rear uprights are straight. They end with very sober turned feet with hooves. This chest of drawers is topped with original Sainte-Anne marble with a thickness of 3 cm and grooved. Furniture structure: Dust covers between the drawers.
