Set of 4 “Plia” model folding chairs from the 1960s with Viennese canework and chrome tubes. These iconic Italian chairs were designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1967. BIBLIOGRAPHY Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna in 1940. He attended the Istituto Statale d'Arte in Bologna, where he earned the title of professor of drawing. In 1960 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. He then taught interior design at the Istituto Statale d'Arte in Bologna for seven years.
