Beautiful composition from the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. It represents a bridge near large poplar trees over which a carriage passes. In the foreground a woman drawing and chatting with a friend. at the foot of the bridge a walker and his dog. Lake landscape in the background. Great finesse of execution and beautiful light. No visible signature. It is an oil on paper, mounted on a parqueted wooden panel. there are some SMALL wear and SMALL restorations. (transplants) Dimensions of the painting alone 23 cm x 30. Presented in a blackened wooden frame and gilded molding with two small gaps. 44cm 37cm. Guess maybe an English school? Very pretty in any case.
