“Tuccata”, votive figure in terracotta with white glaze representing a woman carrying a child, found in the rice fields. Restoration at the level of the head: The head was separated from the body and thrown into nature during births to appease evil spirits and protect the newborn. (Siam)Thailand, Sawankhalok, Sukhothai 14/16th century. H 8 cm x W 4 cm x D 3 cm Provenance, estate of the collector and Asian art dealer Claude de Marteau.
