"Leda And The Swan By Jean Victor Badin (1872-1949)"
This beautiful bronze, representing the famous Mythological allegory of Leda seduced by Jupiter in the appearance of the Swan, has a beautiful original patina, is signed and bears a lost wax stamp. Beautiful dimensions, placed on its varnished wooden base. This bronze is of great sensuality and beautiful softness in its rendering and its patina. It was exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1929. Jean Victor Badin is a recognized sculptor, rare on the market and this subject more particularly . He had numerous state commissions and is listed in books specializing in sculpture and also in Benezit. (I should point out that it is not varnished, its shine in the photos may suggest this.) dimensions excluding base: height - 31cm width - 23cm length - 38cm dimensions with base: height - 35.5cm width - 23cm length - 42cm
