Elegant ogee wig box, in cherry wood, from the 18th century. Ogee lid containing inside an engraving of a gallant scene, held by a cord of trimmings. The original glass engraving is surrounded by a beige-colored brocaded silk, surrounded by an ert ribbon (color of hope), a painting fixed under glass in the upper part of a garland of roses topped with two hearts. Undoubtedly a lover's gift... Original coral-colored lacquered interior. Hinges and keyhole in original cut and engraved brass. Functional lock with key, which is quite rare. Brass lid grip button, perhaps later. The wood has a pretty red color, two insect bites (now gone), some scattered wear which is very acceptable.
