"Summer Day Dress In Cotton Muslin Embroidered With Wool Circa 1820-1825"
Circa 1820-1825 England or Europe Interesting summer dress in cotton muslin embroidered with wool circa 1820/1825 from the end of the Regency period in England. It rightly recalls the work of Jane Austin. Bustier with large square neckline applied with green wool cords with accents on the skirt ruffles. Balloon sleeves (possibly modified) and still high waistline. Round skirt sewn with very fine barrel pleats on a waist belt. Closures with links, brass hooks and three lovely original buttons. Very fine polychrome wool embroidery in chain stitch forming a scattering of flowers with two crenellated ruffles at the bottom of the skirt. The ruffles are highlighted with mounds or roots in pink embroidery. Pleated at the bust highlighting the chest. A few micro yellowish halos (very discreet) and rare small losses on the wool embroidery. No other defects to report. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Equivalent to the size of a 14 year old girl today. Height 122 cm Shoulders 36 cm Collar 9 cm Sleeves 21 cm Chest 85 cm Waist 59 cm.
