Very large sculpture winner in the cockfight. Bronze brown patina medal by Alexandre Falguière. Winner of the first Grand Prix de Rome in 1859. Model created in 1864 and sent to the Paris Salon. The original is in the Musée d'Orsay. Signed on the terrace and foundry stamp Thiébault Frères, Fumières and Gavignot successors in Paris, cast iron late 19th century.. Small wear to the patina. Weight: 24 kilos .Reproduced on page 311 of the dictionary of
19th century sculptors by Kjellberg.
