"Louis XV Period Snack Table"
Snack table. Louis XV period. Mid 18th century. It rests on four arched legs ending in sabots. The top is surrounded by a border on three sides. It has a niche on the facade. The sides are decorated with a clover-shaped opening allowing the furniture to be held. These little so-called “flying” pieces of furniture traveled from one room to another as needed. In particular, they made it possible to take leftover meals to the room to be consumed later “in case” of small hunger (creating the word “encas” to designate a light meal). Table re-lacquered in matt black with coral red interior. Note: wear on the hooves, treated wormholes. Dimensions: L 44 x D 35 x H 72.5
