Pair of Egyptian alabaster Canopic vases, in the style of Antiquity, with the effigy of a pharaoh and an animal (monkey?). Period: Late 19th century - Early 20th century? Probable Grand Tour Souvenirs. Heavy stone carved and finely carved with Egyptian motifs. The hyeroglyphs do not seem to have any particular meaning, they are decorative and collectible objects. Good general condition, no damages. Light scratches from the stone on the edge of the animal cover. Dimensions: Height 11 cm approx. / Diameter: 5.5 cm approx.
