Collection: Animal Piggy Bank Circa 1900, Pretty Donkey, Nuremberg Lead

Beautiful object from end of the 19th century or 1900, a toy “Nuremberg lead”, cast tin alloy, cold hand painted from encaustic colors. Here, it is the charming gray donkey, red saddle pierced to slide in a few coins, opening with hinge, closing with padlock of convenience.
Pretty polychromy, slightly renowed by the previous owner, quite well done.
Beautiful little toy, no flaws, welding or crushing, period 1900, complete, finding original padlock is rare.
