Elegant wall console from the Louis XVI period (1774-1792) in a half-moon shape and with a straight leg and its royal red or "Belgian red" veined marble. Under the Restoration (1815-1830) Adophe Blanqui, older brother of the famous revolutionary socialist, in his Summary of the History of Commerce and Industry (1826) defined it as follows: “This marble whose background is red, mixed with white (...) is produced in the province of Namur. It is of all the marbles of Belgium that which has been most frequently used in the decoration of monuments; it is found in the palaces of Versailles, the Louvre, the Palais-Royal, and in a large number of other public and private buildings.
