19th century, Persia A rare silk lampas panel fashioned with horsemen and figures dating from the beginning of the Kadjar period. Sky blue satin background with rows of shrubs alternating riders, children, birds and figures inspired by Safavid arts in salmon, pink and white tones. Purple taffeta lining and cream satin borders (stained lining and fragile borders). On the satin background we can observe, as in carpets, abrash zones, where variations of color in the direction of the warp give lighter or darker shades. A few rare, very discreet yellowish halos (see the last two photos), otherwise no holes or major defects. Good general condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 114cm x 73cm.
