"Gravy Boat, Silver, Paris, 1774"
Superb oval-shaped silver gravy boat with two pouring spouts ending in a scroll bordering the perimeter, the openwork scroll handles framing a shell, it rests on a contoured pedestal, the foot and body are finely engraved and matted. The master goldsmith is Pierre François Goguelye or Gogly received in Paris on August 17, 1768. The gravy boat is very well hallmarked on the foot and under the body. Paris 1774-1775. Weight 404g. Dimensions: length 20.2 cm - width at the handles 14.5 cm - height 10 cm Condition, very good. A similar gravy boat by the same goldsmith from the years 1777-1778 is kept at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. Rare and useful item.
