They have a gilded wooden frame carved with foliate motifs with a rich cymatium at the top. On the upper sides we find the presence of a rare pair of sculpted heads. A contemporary and original mercury glass is applied to the central body which shows the correct blackening of the surface due to the alteration and oxidation of the mercury.
At the base of both we find a hole which was used to insert a candle holder. In fact the gender function of mirrors was also to reflect the light throughout the room.
In perfect condition, they are ready to be hung.
Authenticity
This pair of mirrors can boast absolute integrity in the gilding and also in the mirror, a quality that is difficult to find on the antiques market. Already exhibited at Modenantiquria and Gotha in Parma, two market exhibitions in which the objects can be displayed following examination by an examining commission.
It is possible to verify their era also by looking at the back
