"Marc Uzan Sang De Boeuf Red Porcelain Cup On Foot"
Very beautiful and large porcelain bowl by Marc Uzan. Magnificent oxblood red enameling. Porcelain cup of great finesse, its crystal clear to the touch. Marc Uzan was born in 1955. He discovered modeling at the age of 18 when he was working with children. His first steps were taken at the Aubervilliers Plastic Arts Center. He opened his first workshop in Paris in 1977 and in 1978, driven by a collective workshop project, he left to live near Florence. His meeting with Salvatore and Stefano Cipolla at the Florence Art Institute will mark the beginning of his journey. From 1979, he participated in the Faenza International Ceramic Competition. Then his itinerary led him to live, work and exhibit successively in France, Venezuela, Brazil and Switzerland. Since 1995, he has established his workshop in Sarthe. In each workshop he had to deal with clays and raw materials in order to continue his production of unique pieces. It is thanks to these experiences, exchanges with his trainees as well as his initial training in physics, that he was able to develop methods for researching enamels. Its production is made up of turned, modeled, stamped, rolled, cast parts... essentially enameled at high temperature. His work is characterized by the richness of his enamels and the variety of his shapes. Since his first activities with children, his desire to transmit has always been present. As early as 1989, in an article published in the Revue de la Céramique et du Verre, “A graph to simplify your enamel tests”, he made the first fruits of his research into methods available. Various articles followed and in 2002, the work “Ceramics Glaçures” was published, which provides different inputs for carrying out research. It also includes a large database, in the form of graphics, resulting from work with a collective of ceramists. Source: marcuzan.fr
