"Earthenware Vase From Quimper Odetta (20th Century)"
Quimper Odetta Earthenware Vase (20th Century) Quimper Earthenware Vase in brown color Signature below HB N°876 Vase belonging to the ODETTA collection: a production under Jules Verlingue who acquired the Grande Maison HB Earthenware Factory in Quimper in 1914 . He began to transfer his innovative productions there. Mobilized in Paris, he studied and developed, at the National Ceramic Manufacture of Sèvres, a range of high-fire art stoneware. In 1922, it was named Odetta in connection with the clay used coming from the banks of the Odet, a river which crosses the town of Quimper. Production began on March 29, 1926 and Quimper ceramics will undoubtedly experience one of the richest creative periods of its existence. No fewer than six hundred models were created. The result is a wealth of shapes and decorations with a style very far from traditional productions. Visible at the Galerie Courcelles Antiquités, at 97 rue de Courcelles, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.
