Very Large Terracotta, France, Provence? 19th C.
Very large terracotta (1.70m) representing a young woman lifting her clothing slightly with her left arm to descend from a rock. The right arm close to the body, the hand must have held a missing element. The hair is surrounded by a braid accentuating the femininity of the character. The whole is graceful and not fixed despite the large size. Dirt and lichens. France, probably Provence, around 1880.
