Beautiful feminine portrait from first part of 17th century, painted from gouache on bottom of a rectangular bone box lid battered by years, beautiful memory of a fleeting beauty, as Ronsard said few decades earlier.
This portrait, quite simple, but of very fine quality, resembles that of Marie de Medici at same age.... Disturbing, see last photo.
Discovery condition, a little impasto but almost complete, this small portrait of a beautiful woman from times gone by will be flamboyant after restoration.
