Pretty barrette brooch in 18k 750/1000 gold in the Egyptian spirit popular in the second half of the 19th century. It is set with a hard stone scarab, probably turquoise. We can see inscriptions on the reverse of the stone which suggest that it is an ancient scarab. The gold is rather matte as was the fashion at the time. The jewel is kept in a pretty blue/green leather case in keeping with the colors of the beetle. The box is marked with the Grimoux house in Rennes. Weight: 4.10 g. Dimensions: 7.1cm. Beetle: approximately 1 cm perfect condition, no welds or restorations. The turquoise is impeccable. Clasp security system.
