"Carved And Gilded Pedestal Table With A Hard Stone Top, Rome Circa 1840"
Beautifully carved and gilded baluster on a round base plate with four flared console-shaped legs. The entire base is masterfully sculpted, partly openwork. The original version was consolidated, preserved and minimally retouched during the recent restoration. The top in different marbles has a central field decorated with a fleur-de-lis and an artichoke. It is surrounded by a large frame decorated with conglomerates.
