Carrying the Cross in carved oak, altarpiece group. on the right, Christ carries the Cross, bent under the weight of his load, while a soldier, in a contorted posture (note the twisted position of the soldier's right leg), pulls a lock of hair, his right foot leaning on one of his legs. On the left, Simon of Cyrene relieves Jesus by lifting the stipe. Picturesque soldier's attire with winged helmet, chain mail, knee pads in the shape of a foliage floret. Brabant, circa 1510.
