Object description :

"Noh Theater Painted Scrolls - Demon Changed Into Woman - Eitatsu Koyama 1880-1945 - Japan"
This scroll is named "Hunting for Autumn Leaves" - It cites a Noh play "Momijigari" whose plot is a demon who transforms into a beautiful woman, in order to lose a young hero. The mask of the sneering demon slips under that of a young woman with a blank expression, as if her soul had been removed.
The autumn leaves on the left scroll create a poetic dynamic.
