"Gramophone “pathéphone No. 36” In Mahogany – 1914"
This all-sided piece of furniture, in solid mahogany, opens with two doors with bronze buttons and molded frames. These doors are mounted on brass and dark hinges, each with a central panel. The interior offers two adjustable shelves on racks. The front uprights, decorated with sculpted motifs of projecting acanthus leaves, end in snail feet. Separated by a large intermediate molding, the upper part of this piece of furniture presents gramophone no. 36 from the French brand Pathé. This “Pathéphone” has a double opening concealing a resonance box. The ogee lid, which covers the crank record player, is also molded on top. This relic from the Roaring Twenties will furnish, with music, the room intended for it. ******** Period: 1914 Excellent condition. (Necessary revision of the mechanism). Waxed finish.
