"Gramophone “pathéphone No. 36” In Mahogany – 1914"
This all-sided piece of furniture, in solid mahogany, opens with two doors with bronze buttons and molded frames. These doors are mounted on brass and dark hinges, each with a central panel. The interior offers two adjustable shelves on racks. The front uprights, decorated with sculpted motifs of projecting acanthus leaves, end in snail feet. Separated by a large intermediate molding, the upper part of this piece of furniture presents gramophone no. 36 from the French brand Pathé. This “Pathéphone” has a double opening concealing a resonance box. The ogee lid, which covers the crank record player, is also molded on top.
