Tournai, 1787-1793 Polychrome soft porcelain. 9.6. cm, H. 11.5 cmInscription in black: LA MAUVIS DE LA CAROLINEPiriform jug with a narrow neck and wide spout from the service of the Duke of Orléans. The edge is decorated with a wide royal blue band decorated with gold foliage where there is a cartouche presenting a bird copied from Buffon's Natural History of Birds.
