Pair of revolutionary period pommel pistols modified with percussion around 1830-40, 18th century period. Pistols from the revolutionary period were manufactured in a large number of weapons and the "Paris Workshop" was created where pommel pistols were manufactured for the gendarmerie, the national guard or the cavalry. Revolutionary pistols rarely bear manufacturing marks; the need for pistols was such that numerous workshops opened to meet the demand. Iron mounted weapon with mouthpiece held by pin. Platinum body without marking, modified around 1830-1840 from the percussion flint system. Octagonal round barrel with thunder and long tail. Metal rod with nail head and screw at the end, 15 cm long. Blonde walnut frame and round stock with metal cap. Mechanism in perfect working order on both weapons, functional cocking notch.
