Albert BAURE (1867-1930) "Parisian street scene between La Madeleine and La Concorde" Oil on canvas signed lower right Size 65 x 48 cm
Born in Bordeaux. Painter of portraits, animated landscapes. He was a student of William Bouguereau and Tony Robert Fleury. He began exhibiting at the Salon of French Artists from 1889, honorable mention 1899, third class medal 1911. For most of his life until around 1930, he was mainly a portrait painter for commissions from personalities of the time. Then, he diversified these subjects: in 1929, a tomb of Margaret of Austria, at the cathedral of Brou, in 1933, the Quai Courbet in town rumbled. In 1934, Carriers en Poitou, 1935, holidays, 1936 Fandango. He will also appear at the Autumn Salon in 1921 with a still life Sale of a similar subject €36,000 at Christies Paris on 06/20/2007:
