Philippe Rochette-Castel (1941-2023), very pretty enameled ceramic sculpture in shades of red depicting a rider on his mount. A student at the Paris School of Fine Arts, Philippe Rochette-Castel, painter and sculptor, produced works during the second half of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. He was several times chosen for state orders. This beautiful work from the 1970s/1980s is a reflection of his talent. The very personal style of Philippe Rochette-Castel infuses this ensemble with a homogeneity and movement giving life to the two beings. The total mastery of his art allows the artist to caricature in a touching way the rider and the horse in a style close to Honoré Daumier, purity and modernity in addition. Artist's signature in hollow monogram on the left rear leg of the horse.
