Circa 1820/1850 Provence Small cape with large hood or Visit also called Chimney Sweep in Provence. The Indian with herringbone design dates from the first half of the 19th century and probably from an Alsatian factory. Cotton printed in wax reserve for the black and green background and printed on a wooden board for the floral herringbone patterns. Large matching ruffle around the edge and the hood and lining in floral and picoté Indian Mignonette with a red and blue background. Without defects, the Indian has retained its original finish. Excellent condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: 231 cm width from edge to edge, front height 61 cm, hood height 45 cm and ruffle width 16 cm.
