Spectacular pair of carved wooden sculptures representing squires holding a bronze torch and resting on a wooden base imitating porphyry.This pair is of superior quality, very detailed and finely sculpted.
19th century period; an Italian work (Venice) circa 1870 - 1880.

Note: two beveled glass panes of the torchieres are missing.
