"Louis XVI Style Bergère Armchair Stamped L.dromard Paris"
Very elegant Louis XVI style armchair, from the Napoleon III period, stamped on the four crosspieces L.DROMARD PARIS. The joinery is in very good condition, the trim has been redone using the traditional method, the gilding has been restored with 24 carat gold leaf, the traditional water method. All the gilded bronzes have been re-gilded with fine 24 carat gold (21 pieces) they are also stamped L.DROMARD. LEON DROMARD was a Parisian cabinetmaker, he began his career as a restorer of old furniture and a bronzer, which is why the bronzes of his furniture are of exceptional quality. Then he settled in 1874 at 18 rue St Lazare in Paris as a furniture manufacturer. When it ceased to operate in 1889, a large sale was organized by the DROUOT hotel in Paris to sell the stock of art furniture, seats and bronzes.
