Technique with gold blown on bronze called "Gold splash". Bears a stamp under the base. Decorated with two mythological lion heads. Gilding on bronze in China dates back to the Han dynasty but the gold splash technique appeared in this form during the Ming dynasty. This method was reserved for the most prestigious bronzes. This tradition continued until the 19th century. The gold-spotted bronze technique is reminiscent of the imperial bronzes of this period. These pieces are very rare and of great quality, accentuated here by the finesse of the bronze and the quality of the patina. Dimensions 16 x 12 x 8 cm.
Comes from a private Parisian collection.
