“The sower” by Adrien Gaudez Bronze subject with polychrome patina. Signed A.GAUDEZ H. 57 cm Adrien Godez born in Lyon on February 9, 1845, died in Neuilly-sur-Seine on January 23, 1902. Entered the Beaux-Arts in 1862, he started at the salon 2 years later. In 1870 prisoners of war in Magdeburg, Germany, he sculpted the monument to French soldiers who died in captivity which was erected in the town cemetery. He is also the author of Florian d'Alès, the Remiremont war memorial as well as the bronze harvester statue intended for the Monceau park in Paris in 1880. We can also cite pro-patria 1884, the first printers 1886, Watteau 1890 , the electrical genius 1897, the Reaper 1899 and many other bronzes which have made its reputation.
