"Mortar Or Magistrate's Hat. Early 20th Century "
Mortier of high magistrate, undoubtedly in addition to his rank holding a doctorate. It is made of satin, velvet and superb gold thread trimmings. Some wear on the folds of the red silk otherwise very clean. Preserved in its original box at Maison Bosc, boulevard du Palais in Paris, an old and prestigious institution supplying the judiciary and bars. A curiosity, a testimony and also a decorative and unusual object! Height approximately 15 cm.
