The furniture, slightly severe in style and still borrowing from the rigors of the Empire style (1804-1815), is softened by the use of window contours reminiscent of the cathedral style. With the “Troubadour” style, romanticism puts a “fantasized” Middle Ages in the spotlight. The cabinetmakers are not so much inspired by medieval furniture referenced in the archives but rather by architectural elements such as the French architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc: pointed arch, stylized flowers and serrations. 3 shelves (modern trays) for the two doors and three others for the lower part. the broken window will be replaced by us. Very elegant little piece of furniture to fill with old books... Each door measures 48 cm wide. depth of high cabinet shelves: 26 cm.
