Extremely rare on the market, sculpture in sandstone and glass paste by Georges Saulterre. This is a work representing a face sculpted in a block of sandstone which has been filled with glass paste in a gradient of blue and green. The whole thing is mounted on an iron easel-style support. Work from a private collection acquired in succession, the parents of the former owner being friends of Saulterre. Old works by Saulterre are very rare on the market. Period 1990.
