We offer you a precious pair of wooden angels holding candles, photographed here in the smallest details, carved, gilded and polychrome with vigor around the end of the seventeenth century
The winged figures, with the body and face taken from the front, in an almost sacral attitude, are placed on bases with decorated plinths and are entirely gilded with the exception of the incarnates.
The two figures are depicted in a kneeling position, kneeling as a sign of devotion or reverence, symmetrical to each other, with their legs in a chiastic position and with their hands joined in prayer.
Finely carved sculptures of excellent workmanship and quality; Extraordinary for works of this period is the presence of a large part of the polychromy and gilding.
The conservation conditions are very good. We have proceeded to a superficial cleaning of the gold, to bring out its original beauty, and to retouch the polychromy in the points of wear.
