"Original Christofle-gallia Centerpiece In Silver-plated Metal And Crystal "
Christofle-Gallia centerpiece in silver-plated metal and crystal from the Art Nouveau period. The support can be held by two elegant volute-shaped handles in the center of which there is an oval flower in relief on each side. The upper edge has a special shape with four waves alternating with four troughs. A garland of roses on their three-leaf stem goes around it. Equidistant from the two handles at the top of a wave, a delicate branch with three leaves pointing downwards adorns the profile. At the bottom of each wave we find a crown of the same roses as those around the edge. Each crown is directly above one of the four feet, itself surmounted by a large leaf highlighted by a rounded shape which accentuates its relief. A double ribbed border goes around the base between each pattern. The silver metal support has some minor scratches from use. We will note a few spots whithout silver under the feet which are invisible when the object is placed. (photo 9) The inner container is made of crystal decorated, as is often the case, with long star-shaped flames. The whole is in very good condition and has a beautiful shine. A pure product of Art Nouveau, this centerpiece has the originality of being circular while many from the period are oval. It will undoubtedly beautify your table without cluttering it.
