French infantry, infantryman with bugle signed Eugène de Barberiis (1851-1937) Marseille painter, student of Detaille and Bouguereau. From 1883 to 1901, he exhibited almost continuously at the Paris Salon. "Among his most remarkable paintings, we cite battle scenes: lost, 1893, - Fraternité, 1894" (Bénézit) Condition: good condition, slight loss, yellowed varnish (see photographs)
