"Naturalized Freshwater “carp” Fish Ichtyotaxidermy - Curiité Naturalia"
Superb naturalization (Ichtyotaxidermy) of a freshwater fish. This specialty of taxidermy consists of removing the skin and fins of the animal from the nets. The shape of the fish's body is reproduced with foam. Once the skin has been treated, it is placed and then glued to the artificial structure simulating the shape of a fish. Double interest for the preparer: naturalize and taste! The animal seems likely to be an indeterminate carp (Cyprinus sp.). Dimensions: Total length 29 cm (caudal fin to mouth) / Height with ventral fins 19 cm. The fish is simply placed on the metal rod, possibility of changing its presentation. The (plastic) eyes are stuck to the surface of the skin. The fins, authentic, are clean and rigid. Rare piece. Circa 1980. Old collection, fish initially caught in the Saône (France). French carp species are not subject to any protection status. The sale of taxidermy is then authorized.
