Louis XV style fireplace in Carrara marble, with rocaille decoration of a beautiful stylized shell in the center of the lintel.The molded jambs, like the sides, end in a scrolling console.
Finally, the scalloped top follows the curve of the fireplace and is nicely molded with a corbin beak on the top, and a double molding under the top.
French work from the Napoleon III period.
