"A Bronze Representative Cupid, Early 19th Century"
A patinated and gilded bronze sculpture representing Cupid, a winged character, his bow in his left hand, his quiver attached to the side to a shoulder strap, picking up his arrow on one knee on the ground. He looks very gently into the distance, seeming to admire his target. He is dressed in a drape which forms a beautiful wave movement on the oval-shaped floor; this one is delimited by a gilded bronze hoop. The whole rests on a rectangular porphyry base raised by four ball feet connected by a frieze of water leaves.
Work from the end of the 18th century-beginning of the 19th century.
