"Tobacco Box In Red Griotte Marble XVIII "
Beautiful and rare tobacco box in veined Griotte red marble. This box is reminiscent of the so-called “viscera” boxes, taking the tomb shape but in a smaller size. It presents a beautiful molded ornamentation framed by two fluted wall lights. It opens with an original marble lid, held by two hinges, and revealing an oval tank carved from the mass. Lid split and restored, tiny little refills. French work around 1760.
